White Pigeon, MI

Tamara "Tami" Lee Broadworth, age 72, of White Pigeon, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2026.

She was born on July 30, 1953, in Maryland, the daughter of Archie and Hazel (Hutto) Hamilton. Because her father served in the military, Tami spent her childhood moving throughout the country. Her family lived in North Carolina before eventually settling in California during her young adult years.

While living in California, Tami began her career with General Motors, which later brought her to Michigan to work at Hydromatic during the 1980s. She later worked for Carl's Catering for four years before joining Louisiana-Pacific. Due to health issues, she was eventually forced to retire from the workforce.

On February 20, 1989, Tami married the love of her life, Dennis Broadworth, in Reno, Nevada. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family gatherings, and cherished memories.

Tami was known for her heart of gold, her stubborn streak, and her fearless honesty. Though small in stature, she was a true spitfire who never hesitated to speak her mind. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling and loved spending time outdoors, especially mushroom hunting. Tami was an excellent cook and baker who was especially known for her delicious cheesecakes. Family meant everything to her. She treasured her grandchildren, loved hosting family holiday gatherings, decorating for every occasion, shopping trips, and making special memories with her granddaughter over Chinese food.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Broadworth of White Pigeon, Michigan; her daughter, Marie (Doug) Perry of Shipshewana, Indiana; bonus daughters, Julie Broadworth and Jennifer (Dave Fortune) Broadworth, both of Michigan; grandchildren, Brooke Huff, Ashley Maxon, and Jayden Chandler; great-grandchildren, Mia Huff, Gunner Maxon, and Kenzie Maxon; siblings, Reponia Augustine and Archie (Amanda) Hamilton, both of California; along with many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Hazel Hamilton; her stepmother, Robbie Williams Hamilton; and her siblings, Randy Hamilton, Ricky Hamilton, and Tonya Hamilton.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
