Susan M. Plunkett, age 76, of Sturgis, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Three Rivers, Michigan.

She was born on August 1, 1948, in Athens, Georgia, the daughter of Dorman Lavon Hightower and Hazel Marie Strickland. Susan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys—whether it was playing Scrabble and cards, tapping away at Angry Birds, or listening to the soulful music of Janis Joplin.

Susan always believed in the strength and potential of her family—especially her son, Johnny Stallard, whom she often said could do anything.

She is survived by her beloved children: Johnny (Melissa Calvert) Stallard of Sturgis, MI; Travis Carl Plunkett of Douglasville, GA; and Darlene Michelle Plunkett of Douglasville, GA. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Isaac Willard, Myah Grant, and Tiana Stallard; her sister, Sandra Salyer; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093, 269-278-1515.
