Shelly Lynne Knight, age 58, of Vandalia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange, Indiana. She was born in Winter Haven, Florida, on October 29, 1967, a daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Ellenberg) Perez.

Shelly married Stuart Mark Knight in North Liberty, Indiana, and they shared 22 years of marriage before his passing on September 14, 2010.

For 15 years, Shelly was the proud owner and operator of Shelly’s Daycare in Elkhart, Indiana. She had a kind and giving heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed her. Shelly was strong-willed, loving, and fiercely devoted to her family.

She had a deep love for animals and enjoyed listening to rock and roll and classic rock music. She was also an avid NASCAR fan. Shelley was a wonderful cook, with her lasagna being a particular favorite. She also enjoyed being a DJ on Second Life.

Above all, Shelly was an incredible mother. She would do whatever was necessary for her sons and always made sure they were safe and cared for. Her love for her children was one of the most important parts of her life.

Shelly is survived by her sons, Dwayne Scott Perez of New Paris, Indiana; Kenny Ray Knight of Vandalia, Michigan; and Christopher Van Knight of Vandalia, Michigan; her granddaughter, Zoe Lynn Elizabeth Knight, who is expected to be born in February 2027; her siblings, Danny, Tony, J.R., Susie, and David; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart, and her mother, Mary.

In accordance with Shelly’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
