Richard R. Freese, age 86 of Three Rivers, died Monday Oct. 15, 2012 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Three Rivers on Oct. 24, 1926 the son of Roger and Hilda (Johnson) Freese. He lived for many years in Three Rivers, moving back from Rockford, MI. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a machinist for the Johnson Corporation, and was a part time farmer. Richard was a member of the Agape Family Church of Three Rivers, and a former member of the Grace Life Church in Belmont, MI. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Richard was married to Helen J. Moniz on June 23, 1995 in Tulsa, OK. She survives along with four sons, Steve (Linda) Freese, Daryl Freese, Timothy (Sidney) Freese, and Philip Freese; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; and sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday Oct. 18, 2012 at the Agape Family Church on Wilbur Road in three Rivers. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with Pastor Leon Troyer, and Pastor Ronald Messelink officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery with military rites by Hice-Shutes American Legion Post #170. Memorials may be directed to the Gospel Mission in Kalamazoo.
