Paul Weston Fries, 67, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at Beacon at Three Rivers Health in Three Rivers, Michigan, surrounded by his beloved family while visiting them in Three Rivers.

Paul was born February 21, 1959, in Elgin, Illinois, a son to Robert Gustav and Waltraut (Kullmann) Fries. He spent his early childhood in Carpentersville, Illinois before moving with his family to Three Rivers, Michigan, where he lived for 15 years. After that time, he proudly entered the United States Army, a step that began a life of travel and new experiences.

During and after his military years, Paul lived in several places including Stanwood, Iowa and Radcliff, Kentucky before settling in Vine Grove, Kentucky where he made his home for the last 35 years.

On April 4, 1995, Paul married the love of his life, Becky Myers, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Together they built a life centered around family and friendship. Paul was a devoted member of the New Apostolic Church in Vine Grove.

Paul spent much of his working life as an over-the-road truck driver, logging more than 30 years on the highways of America. The open road suited his independent spirit and gave him countless stories and friendships along the way.

Outside of work, Paul had many hobbies and interests. He was an enthusiastic collector—of coins, toy cars, teapots, and many other treasures. He enjoyed CB and ham radios, loved a good glass of Jägermeister, and was a devoted fan of 1970s and 1980s rock and roll. Paul also had a deep appreciation for American history and military shows. He adored his cats and dogs and cherished time spent with family. One of his wishes was that his loved ones would gather together to watch old movies and remember him with laughter and stories.

Known for his kindness and generosity, Paul was the kind of person who would “give you the shirt off his back.” His warm heart, sense of humor, and love for those around him will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Fries of Vine Grove, Kentucky; daughters Melissa Ventura and Kathryne Fries, both of Las Vegas; grandchildren Mikai Cross, Nolan Ventura, Simon Ventura, and Owen Ventura; siblings Frank (Judy) Fries, Carol (Steve) Kern, Mark (Janice) Fries, Gordon Fries, and Clark (Annie) Fries; many nieces and nephews; and a special best friends, Ryan Twitchell & Devin Orton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Waltraut Fries; his in-laws, Jesse and Alice Myers; and his sister, Monica Fries.

In accordance with Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093.
