Patricia Lee Bates-Burton age 54 of Three Rivers, passed away May 19, 2008 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born in Chicago, IL on October 8, 1953 the daughter of Harry E. and Barbara L. (Oglesby) Bates. She spent her early childhood in Glenwood Springs, CO, before moving back to Wauconda, IL with her family when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Wauconda High School in 1971. She meant John Burton and they married June 23, 1979 in Niles, MI. She resided with her son and husband for the last 30 years in Three Rivers. She worked for American Axle for 13 years retiring recently. She was a member of the Three Rivers American Legion Auxiliary; the Women's Committee at American Axle and for a time owned the Carriage House Crafts.
Surviving are her husband; John Burton; a son, Travis of Three Rivers, father, Harry E. Bates of Three Rivers, 2 brothers, Harry E. Bates, Jr. of Silt, Colorado; and Steven M. Bates of Eagle River, WI., mother-in-law Florence Burton and brother-in-law, Chuck Burton and many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1991.
Cremation has been conducted. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service which will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel, Three Rivers.
