Noble B. Pttman, age 89 of Marcellus, MI, died Thursday June 7, 2012 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers. He was born in Etna Green, IN on Nov. 2, 1922 the son of Roscoe and Hazel (Mellott) Pittman. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Europe during WW II. He has been a Marcellus resident since 1946 when purchased a local farm which he operated until 1993. Noble was also employed at Weyerhauser Paper, Good Manufacturing in Constantine, Alexander's Livestock Sale Barn, and was a transporter for the St. Joseph County Juvenile Court System. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, raised bees, and sold honey.
Noble was married to Mary D. Kline on September 15, 1957 in Constantine. Mary died on November 19, 2011.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. (James Jr.) Jacobs of Three Rivers; a son, David N. (Connie) Pittman of Marcellus; 2 grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Jacobs; a brother, Andy (Mary) Pittman of Kinde, MI; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and 2 brothers, Elias and Chester Pittman.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday June 13, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Jay Bailey, Pastor of the Three Rivers Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in Mottville Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hice-Shutes American Legion Post #170. Memorials may be directed to either Southern Care Hospice, or to the Riverview Manor Resident Activities Fund
