Mary M. Thompson age 83 of Three Rivers died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Heartland Health Care. She was born in Huntington, IN on August 7, 1925 the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Mary E. (Snavely) Abrams. She married Johnie Thompson in Niles, MI on May 17, 1969. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Portage, enjoyed puzzles, loved dolls, baby sitting children and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children; Zenda (Keith) Overstreet of Nicholasville, KY, Diana (Jerry) Westphal of Three Rivers, Bill Hughey of Constantine, Nancy (Charles) Thompson of Three Rivers, Step-children; Charles (Nancy) Thompson of Three Rivers, Gene Thompson of Berrien Springs and Frank (Hillarie) Thompson of Amarillo, TX; a sister Lucy Nell and brother James Abrams both of Three Rivers; several grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step daughter Mary "Kathy" Vazquez; 6 siblings; Elsie Reed, Betsy Mock, Wayne Abrams, Eugene Abrams, Ernest Abrams, and Lindon Abrams, 1 grandchild Tina Bell. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel Three Rivers, where services will be held on Monday, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mike James of the Portage Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are being directed to Heartland Hospice.
