IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Sue
Mangold
September 15, 1954 – June 28, 2025
Mary "Sue" Mangold, age 70, of Centreville, MI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Sue was born on September 15, 1954, in Flint, MI, the daughter of Wilma Jean Woolworth. She spent her early years in Clio, MI before planting strong roots in St. Joseph County, where she lived for the past 50 years.
Sue dedicated her life to caring for others through her work as a registered nurse. She began her nursing career at Sturgis Hospital, where she served for six years, and then devoted 34 years to Three Rivers Hospital, providing compassion, strength, and exceptional care to countless patients and families.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Sue was a devoted member of Wesleyan Methodist Church, where she found community and spiritual strength. Outside of her professional and spiritual life, she had a wide range of passions. She was an avid collector of Breyer horses, as well as glass and metal horse figurines. She loved decorating for Halloween and was especially fond of The Nightmare Before Christmas. A lifelong reader, she enjoyed Christian novels and had an extensive tape and VHS collection, including cherished sets of Shirley Temple DVDs.
Sue found joy in landscaping and creating beauty in the outdoors, but nothing brought her more happiness than her family. She was their greatest supporter, always present with love, encouragement, and pride in all they pursued.
She is survived by her loving siblings: Leanne (Tony) Hochstetler of Nottawa, MI; Earl Mangold of Arizona; and Paula McDowell of Three Rivers, MI. She also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved deeply.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Wilma Jean Woolworth, and her brother, Roy Mangold.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A burial of cremated remains will be held on July 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM, at Moorepark Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life at the Fraternal Order of Police, 24273 M-86, Centreville, MI 49032, on July 18, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
