Marion Bernice Burlingame, age 95 of Three Rivers, died Thursday March 22, 2012 at her home. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on Aug. 26, 1916 the daughter of Harry Douglas and Willa Mae (Wylie) Bostwick. Marion was a homemaker who also worked as a receptionist at Dr. Dana's office in Kalamazoo. She was a Day Care Center volunteer and also volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Battle Creek. She was also a member of the Portage V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Marion is survived by 2 daughters, Gail Burlingame-Smith of Grand Ledge, MI and Pamela Phillips-Salter of Three Rivers; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul A. Burlingame; 2 daughters, Sandra L. Cassone and Marion C. Conway; 2 brothers, Robert D. Bostwick and William E. Bostwick; and 1 sister, Martha Rice.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Stout, Pastor of the Volinia Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow services, and a private interment of ashes will take place later in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
