Linda Louise Murray, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Portage, Michigan, on December 10, 2025.

Born on August 6, 1951, in Marcellus, Michigan, Linda was the beloved daughter of Lloyd and Florence (Bailey) Murray and the third of six children.

Linda graduated from Marcellus High School in 1969 and went on to attend Southwestern Michigan College, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree.

Linda had a deep love for the simple joys of life. She was an avid reader, a talented seamstress, and a gifted cook. Her flower gardens were a source of pride, blooming with the color and vibrancy that mirrored her spirit. She loved the outdoors, native wildlife, and the peacefulness of nature. Traveling brought her happiness, especially when it meant spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she looked forward each year to her family's annual camping trip up north. Linda also adored her beloved dog, Good Golly Miss Molly—affectionately known as "Molly"—who was her constant companion.

Linda is survived by her children: Penny (Bill) Myers of Constantine, MI, Sky Payton of Portage, MI, Jamie (Cameron) Beck of Fort Wayne, IN, and Thomas Middlestadt of White Pigeon, MI; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings Nancy (Dave Huizenga) Murray and Bruce (Cathy) Murray; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Florence Murray; siblings Carol (Murray) Huff, James Murray, and Paul Murray; her son, Ralph Payton; and her niece, Elise Murray.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a burial of the cremated remains in Bly Cemetery in Marcellus, MI at a later date. Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093, has been entrusted with her care.
