Linda Susan Bumpus, age 60 of Three Rivers, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers following a three-month illness. She was born in South Haven, MI on June 24, 1947 the daughter of Lyle J. and Dorothy V. (Thomas) Bennett. Linda resided in Maryland for several years where she was a schoolteacher and received her Master's Degree in Education. She has resided in Three Rivers since 1991. Here she was a member of the Moorepark Community Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing the piano, and solving puzzles. Linda is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Paul) Walters of Waldorf, MD; 1 son, James D. Bumpus III of Laurel MD; 5 grandchildren; and one sister, Rita (Dennis) Tipton of Marcellus. Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Moorepark Community Church with Pastor Ken Miller officiating.
