LaVerne M. Noorton passed away on Jan. 3, 2011 in Three Rivers. She was born May 28, 1926 in Chicago, IL. She moved with her family to Three Rivers in 1946 where she met and later married Harold L. Norton, Sr. They had five children together. LaVerne worked as a secretary in Chicago; was the Newberg Township Treasurer for a number of years; and was also a clerk at the Three Rivers Public Library. She was a member of the Corey Church of the Nazarene where she also enjoyed playing the organ. LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a son, Kenneth; and a daughter, Sandra. She is survived by three sons, Harry, Randy, and Todd along with their wives; a son in law; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday January 7, 2011 at the funeral home followed by graveside services at Poe Cemetery. A light lunch will then be served at the Corey Church of the Nazarene.
