Lance Joby Olson, age 65, of Constantine, MI, passed away suddenly on May 30, 2025, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.

Born January 30, 1960, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Lance was the son of Thomas Robert Olson, Sr. and Jean Audrey (Lind) Olson. He was a 1978 graduate of Houston High School in Houston, Minnesota. In 1980, Lance proudly joined the U.S. Air Force, a decision that led him to Florida, where he met his wife, Michele. They shared 37 years of marriage and countless memories.

Lance's journey took him from Wisconsin to Florida, to Pennsylvania, and ultimately to Constantine, Michigan, where he had lived for the past 30 years. For the last 14 years, he was employed at Morgan Olson in Sturgis, MI, where he was known for his dedication and work ethic.

Lance was a man of simple joys. He loved his naps, tuning into Fox News, exploring all-you-can-eat buffets, and attending concerts—especially those featuring the rock 'n' roll hits of the '70s and '80s. A loyal Minnesota Vikings fan, Lance cheered on his team through thick and thin. He also loved to travel, with fond memories of trips to Ireland, Florida, and Arizona. Lance proudly served as a life member of the American Legion Post 665 in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, and was a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in White Pigeon. He cherished attending WWF/WWE wrestling events with his son and shared a love of video games, creating lasting memories through their time together. But more than anything, Lance cherished time spent with his family—his children, his beloved granddaughter, and those closest to him.

He is survived by his children, Rachel Olson of Constantine, MI, and Erik Olson of Sturgis, MI; his granddaughter, Alayna Olson; his former wife, Michele Olson of Constantine, MI; his mother, Jean Olson; brothers Tom (Mary) Olson, Jr. and Kirk Olson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Robert Olson, Sr., as well as several aunts and uncles.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093. Refreshments will be served, and all who knew and loved Lance are welcome to attend.
