John Bogdan Kalita, 62, of Saugatuck, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2026. He leaves a legacy of quiet generosity, service, and deep love for his family.

Born on January 17, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Steinmetz High School with the Class of 1979.

Following graduation, John served in the Illinois National Guard for a brief period of time but left due to medical reasons and received an honorable discharge.

He had many professions such as salesperson, sous chef, realtor, warehouse at Amazon, and bus driver for Holland, Michigan school system.

He enjoyed video games, fishing, sports (especially Bears football), and spending time with his friends. John's kindness, humility, and unwavering compassion touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his brother, Andrew Piotrowski; sister-in-law, Kathleen Piotrowski; as well as his cousins, Ania Dassonville, Yola Staciewicz and Christopher Staciewicz.

John was cremated at Ray Funeral Services in Three Rivers, Michigan, and his ashes will be spread in Fayetteville, GA, into this brother's lake. No funeral memorial service is planned.
