James L. Tase, 61 of Three Rivers, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Heartland Health Care following a short illness. He was born November 16, 1947 in Three Rivers, MI to Lester L. and Frances J. (Stuebgen) Tase. He attended school in Mendon. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) West on May 24, 1980 in Centreville, MI. James worked in construction, carpentry and landscaping. He was a past member of the American Legion Post #170, enjoyed fishing, hunting, landscaping and his dog Sammi.
James is survived by his wife, Betsy; son, Willard (Bud) Bueno of Constantine; 3 daughters; Tammy (Rob) Schragg of Sturgis; Karen (Tim) Noga of Leonidas and Mondaye Steele of Clearwater, FL; his mother Fran (Sharon) Miller of White Pigeon; 2 sisters; Sandra (Dwight) Ames of Mendon and Sharon (Wayne) Swartz of Marcellus and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; grandmother Clara Stuebgan; brother John Tase and sister Sheila Polland.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday May 13, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Services will be held Thursday May 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Lorren Lewis officiating. Military Interment will be at the Mendon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
