Ivan Robert Alexandersen, age 43 of Three Rivers died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Borgewss Medical Center in Kalamazoo following a short illness. He was born in Oslo, Norway on Jan. 11, 1970 the son of Alex Ram and Inger Victoria (Larsen) Alexandersen. Ivan was an exchange student in the United States and has lived here since 1993. He was employed at Kaiser Aluminum in Kalamazoo as a crew leader. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University. He was the bookkeeper for the U.S. Steel workers Union, Local 2-1011. Ivan enjoyed photography, flowers, motorcycles, and antiques. Ivan was married to Anne M. Oxender on Nov. 10, 2011 in Centreville, MI. She survives along with two sons, Kody and Dylan; three brothers, Einar, Christian, and Kareinge; two sisters, Ida Cecilie and Anita. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ronny. A visitation will be held on Thursday Dec. 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. A private interment of his ashes will take place later in Norway by his wife, Anne. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
