Helen O. Cook, age 91 of Marcellus, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers following a brief illness. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on Sep. 14, 1917 the daughter of Hallard and Edith (Rasor) Davis. Helen grew up in Three Rivers and graduated from Three Rivers High School. She was married to Louis W. Cook on Sep. 24, 1938. Together they engaged in farming where she enjoyed caring for the animals, fishing, and gardening. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards. For many years Helen was a dispatcher for the Three Rivers Police Department.
Helen is survived by 2 sons, Louis (Carolyn) Cook of Schoolcraft and Robert Cook of Fulton; a daughter, Linda (Chester) Tallmadge of Marcellus; and by three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis on Dec. 23, 1998; her two brothers, Forrest "Bud" Davis and Robert Davis.
The family will receive friends on Friday Jan. 9, 2009 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Chaplain Johnny Groda of In House Hospice Solutions officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
