Obituary

Rev. George Howard King, age 90 of Three Rivers, died Tuesday March 9, 2010 at Three Rivers Health. He was born on March 27, 1919 in Bessemer, AL the son of William Porter and Esther Rosanna (Zanders) King. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Pontiac Motors Division of General Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1975. He has been a resident of Three Rivers since 1976, coming from Pontiac. Rev. King served as Pastor of the Grant Chapel in Three Rivers from 1978 to 1992. He enjoyed helping people, and was a volunteer at Three Rivers Health. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and working on small engines. He was married to Ledora T. Cook on Aug. 25, 1996 in Three Rivers. She survives along with 2 brothers, William P. King, Jr. of Southfield, MI and James King of Portage, MI; 1 sister, Lillie Jean Lewis of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl E. King; 4 sisters, Mattie Ruth Wright, Pearlie May Prince, Margaret Louise King, and Bertha Leonora Ward. Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Grant Chapel in Three Rivers with Pastor L.H. Marcilous officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the Grant Chapel. Arrangements were by the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers. Online condolences may be left at www.efhchapel.com
