George Albert Johnson, Sr.

George Albert Johnson, Sr., age 96, of Three Rivers, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He was born on October 22, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Axel and Jesse Johnson.

George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In recognition of his honorable service, he was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars.

Following his military service, George dedicated many years of his career as a driver for the City of Chicago. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to serving his community. Later in life, he relocated to Three Rivers, Michigan, where he enjoyed being closer to his family.

He is survived by his son George Johnson, Jr., of Three Rivers, MI.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No public services are planned at this time.
