Obituary

Garrick Paul Twiford Butch, 71, of Elkhart, IN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 5, 2024 from a long battle with lung cancer and heart failure. He was born June 4th, 1952 to Clyde Twiford and Thelma Drumm (Huffman) in South Bend, IN. He is survived by four children, Jessica (Shawn) Smith of Danube, MN, Tina Norman of Elkhart, IN, Garrick Paul Twiford, Carlisle, IN, and Kimberly (Tim) Allen of Cassopolis, MI. Twelve grandchildren, Michael Swords III, Pensacola, FL, Tyler Warburton, Robert Proctor Jr., Tiffany (Collin) Peterson, all of Elkhart, IN, Evelyn Proctor, Salem, NJ, Brittany Bowman, Christopher Bowman ll, Erica Bowman, Timothy Allen ll, all of Cassopolis, MI, Michael Norman Jr., Adam Norman, both of Elkhart, IN, and Nicholas Allen, Cassopolis, MI. One great-grandchild, Ocean Bowman of Elkhart, IN. Three siblings, Thomas (Belle) Twiford of Pinellas Park, FL, Valerie Lorrie Vaughn of Clearwater, FL, and Edmund Drumm of White Pigeon, MI; as well as many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Twiford, Thelma and James Drumm, sister Mary Reed, and niece April Nichols. He lived with his daughter Tina, and 3 of his grandsons Robert, Michael, and Adam in which they all shared a very close bond. He was in the US Army in the early 1970s, and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He worked various professions, eventually retiring from Gunite Corporation. Over his life he lived mostly in the Michiana area with some time in South Dakota, Hawaii, Michigan, and Florida before returning to Elkhart, IN. He was a former member of the Bristol American Legion Post 143. He enjoyed fishing and having cookouts. He was a fan of music from the 60s and 70s. He loved visiting his family, and spending time with his grandchildren.
