Fern Marie Knauss, age 79 of Three Rivers, died Monday, June 29, 2020 at Ascension-Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on Dec. 24, 1940 the daughter of the late Estell and Letha (Floyd) Bell. She attended a one-room school near Jones and went to Marcellus High School. Fern was married to Gordon L. Knauss on April 18, 1959 in Three Rivers. For several years she was the manager of the Berger Dairy Store on West Michigan Avenue and later worked for the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging. She enjoyed bowling in several area bowling leagues. Fern is survived by her husband, Gordon; a son, Michael (Karen) Knauss of Constantine; two grandchildren, Kelly Knauss of Constantine and Kyle Knauss of Columbus, OH; three sisters, Nancy Bell, Sandy (Wayne) Smith, and Sally (Ron) Vellenga; one niece and one nephew.
