Evelyn Kay DeFeyter

Evelyn Kay DeFeyter, age 73, of Union, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on September 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn was born in Elkhart, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Patty (Benninghoff) Peffley. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent 50 years working at Alumax and Amerimax in Bristol. She also worked part-time at Swifties for several years and at Parkmore Laundry and Tanning for five or six years. Evelyn was one of the hardest workers anyone could know.

Outside of work, Evelyn enjoyed shopping, especially shopping on Temu, and she was known for her spunky personality. She adored her dogs, Pandora, Riley, and Bella, and never missed her favorite soap operas, especially General Hospital. Most of all, Evelyn cherished her great-grandchildren. She was one of the most giving and generous people her family had ever known.

She is survived by her daughter, Tonya (Wendell) Hull of Union, Michigan; grandchildren, Joshua Tubbs of Union, Michigan, and Brittany (Steven) Mooi of Vandalia, Michigan; and great-grandchildren, Robert Tubbs, Mckenzie Clark, Brayden Gray, Tanner Mooi, Hayzen Mooi, and Lake Mooi.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Russell Peffley.
