Ethel Marie Guajardo, age 84, died Monday Jan. 25, 2016 at Fairview Living and Rehabilitation in Centreville following a long illness. She was born in Antwerp, Ohio on April 20, 1931 the daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Duby) Hughes. She grew up in Houghton Lake, and lived in Holly as a teenager. Ethel graduated from Adelphia Academy in 1949. She was married to Harry W. Truxton later that year. He died in 2000. Ethel was a homemaker and member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and collecting Teddy Bears. Ethel is survived by a son, William (Virginia) Truxton of Sturgis; grandson, Jamie Truxton of LaGrange; granddaughters, Crystal (Marty) Smith and Amanda (CW) Hull ; great granddaughter, Autumn Rayne Hull; and sister, Donna Hughes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Michael and Gary Truxton; two brothers, John and Ronald Hughes; and a sister, Barbara Smith. Cremation has been conducted, and a private interment service will be held later. Arrangements were by the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers.
