Obituary

Eleanor L. Winrotte, age 81 of Three Rivers, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. She was born in Greentown, IN on May 4, 1927 the daughter of Walter and Alma (Fort) Zartman. She was a 1945 graduate of Tyner High School in Tyner, IN where she was the recipient of the D.A.R. Good Pilgrimage Award for the State of Indiana. She later attended Ball State University. Eleanor was married to Keith E. Winrotte on Jan. 16, 1949 in Plymouth, IN. Eleanor had been employed by the National Bank of South Bend for several years. She served 8 years as the Treasurer for the Chet Waggoner Little League in South Bend. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was an active volunteer and officer in several churches. Eleanor was a volunteer with the P.T.A. She enjoyed sewing, making stuffed animals and dolls, and attending area craft shows. She enjoyed travels with her husband following their retirement. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Keith; 2 children, Rebecca Medich and Brian K. (Tina) Winrotte all of Three Rivers; 5 grandchildren, Heather Nicole Root, Ashley Michelle Root, and Daniel Edward Root, Kimberly Ann Winrotte, and Amanda Jean Winrotte; 4 great-grandchildren, Kameron James Root, Nathaniel Keith Stacey, Hope Ann Seager, and Daisy S. Winrotte; 1 brother, Carroll (Shirley) Zartman of Plymouth, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by 2 brothers, Walter and Vance Zartman. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be announced in the Spring of 2009. Donations in her memory are suggested to UMCOR in care of the United Methodist Church. The family was assisted by the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers.
