Dean Allen Shidaker, age 68, of Three Rivers, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on June 7, 2026.
He was born on August 27, 1957, in Plymouth, Indiana, the son of James O. Shidaker and Wanda Mae Miller. Dean graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1975 and remained a proud member of the Three Rivers community throughout his life.
On October 16, 1981, he married, Julie Stump, in Three Rivers, Michigan. Together they built a life centered around family, friendship, and countless cherished memories.
Dean was a dedicated and hardworking man. He worked at Firestone, where he worked for four years, followed by employment with Michigan Medical. He ultimately spent 37 years of working in manufacturing and retired from Weyerhaeuser/International Paper.
A talented artist, Dean enjoyed wood burning, painting, and drawing. His artistic abilities extended to painting stock cars, and he was often found helping friends in the pits, serving as an unofficial member of the pit crew. He enjoyed spending time around bonfires, camping with family and friends, and was known as a true "party boy" who never turned down a good time and a cold Bud Light.
More than anything, Dean treasured his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Julie Shidaker of Three Rivers, Michigan; daughter, Nicole (Quincy) Washington of White Pigeon, Michigan; son, Dusty Shidaker of Three Rivers, Michigan; grandchildren, Daisha Calvin, Sydney Harper, Mekhi Washington, and Jaxson Shidaker; great-grandchildren, Nylah Lee and Domonque Lee; brother, Jimmy Dale Shidaker of Three Rivers, Michigan; stepmother, Joyce Shidaker of White Pigeon, Michigan; brothers-in-law, Steve (Michelle) Stump of Palmetto, Florida, Jeff (Bev) Stump of Three Rivers, Michigan, and Herb (Nikki) Nash of Three Rivers, Michigan; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. Shidaker and Wanda Mae Shidaker, and his sister, Viola Mae Persil.
In accordance with Dean's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Avenue, Three Rivers, Michigan.
