Constance May Smith, 79, formerly of Three Rivers, died late Tuesday May 27th, 2008 at her residence in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on May 21st, 1929 the daughter of the late Madra E. (Rix) Oliver of Madison, Wisconsin and Lawrence W. Oliver of Three Rivers, Michigan. She graduated from Madison East High School and Madison Business College, before moving to Washington, D.C. to work as a clerk/stenographer for the National Production Authority, United States Department of Commerce. She was married to Marshall N. Smith on February 16, 1952 in Pautuxent River, Md. at the Naval Station. They resided in Three Rivers for 54 years. Connie worked doing door - to - door sales for Avon while raising her three children. When Marshall established Smith's Auto and Truck Repair in 1963, Connie worked as office manager and bookkeeper until they closed the business in 1979. She then worked for Dimmick Petroleum until her retirement. Connie was a member of the Center Park United Methodist Church and the St. Joe Valley Boat Club. She had a Private Pilot's license and sang in her church choir for many years. She loved to play flute and piano, and enjoyed knitting and crochet. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Warren Marshall Smith ( Char Bacon) of Chelsea, Margaret Ann McLaughlin (Walter) of Flushing, and Deborah Louise Prunkard (Dennis) of Riverview; two grandchildren, Christopher John Smith (Danielle) of Three Rivers, and Aarisa Elysianne Smith (Shammi Ameen) of Carlsbad, Calif.; one great-grandson, Garrett Marshall Smith of Three Rivers; and one sister, Colette Robertson (Alan) of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall and her parents. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 31st at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers with the Rev. Gary Manley officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at the Moorepark Cemetery. It is suggested that donations be directed to the Center Park United Methodist Church, "Children's Camp Fund."
