Clarence Frank "Jeep" Roberts, age 71 of Three Rivers, died Saturday morning March 8, 2008 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers on Nov. 13, 1936 the son of William and Thelma (Meyers) Roberts, and attended Three Rivers Schools. Jeep established, or was involved in numerous businesses, including Roberts Excavating, Westside Landfill, Roberts Trailer Park, and M-60 Storage. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge and the St. Joseph County Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and travel.
Jeep was married to Kathleen Ziesmer on Dec. 24, 1975 in Niles, MI. She survives along with 4 children, Clarence F. Roberts, Jr. of Three Rivers, Michael Roberts (Chris) of Boynton Beach, FL, Shelley McCoomb of Three Rivers, and Amy Payne (Mark) of Three Rivers; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Hackenberg of Marcellus; 2 brothers, William "Buck" Roberts, Jr. (Marlene) and Jim Roberts both of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Jon and Jack Roberts.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 5 p.m. at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers with Chaplain Barbara Van Eck, Chaplain of Borgess VNA & Hospice officiating.
