Carl F. Miller age 89 of Portage died Saturday Dec. 5, 2015 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Ardmore, South Dakota on Feb. 2, 1926 the son of Harry and Gertrude (Weber) Miller. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, and later attended the University of Illinois. Carl served in the U.S. Army from 1943-47. He was married to Barbara Lukins on April 12, 1950 in Kalamazoo. Carl worked as a heat and air conditioning technician at the Upjohn Company for 45 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, golf, gardening, and Winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Carl is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Gary (Vicky) Miller and Michael (Denise) Miller both of Three Rivers; three grandchildren, Stewart (Amy) Miller of Portage, Brandon Miller of Orlando, FL, and Kristy (Mark) Sootsman of Galesburg; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edward Miller. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A private family service will be held later.
