Barbara Jean Coons, age 70 of Jones, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, MI. She was born in Bloomington, IL on Dec. 25, 1937 the only child of the late William and Dorothy (Henry) Wright. Barbara has resided in Jones the past 28 years, and resided briefly in Florida and Plymouth, IN. She was employed several places as an Administrative Assistant, most notably Swiss Valley Ski Resort, and Illusions Hair Salon in Three Rivers. She had also worked in area Doctors offices, and provided in home care. Barbara is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ralph Coons of Niles; 4 children, Deborah (Randy) Sechowski of South Bend, IN, Robert (Rebecca) Davis of Mishawaka, Thomas Davis of south Bend, and Cathy (Kiley) Vanderhoof of Jones; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held celebrating her Life on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Corey Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gary Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Poe Cemetery, followed by a gathering at the Vanderhoof home. Memorials are being directed to the family.
