Barbara Ellen Black, age 86, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Bowman House in Three Rivers. She was born in Fiatt, IL on Sep. 30, 1933 the only child of Angelo and Matilda (Beam) Forneris. She graduated from Valley High School in Ellisville, IL and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University. She was married to Stephen D. Black, Jr. on Jan. 1, 1955 in Macomb, IL. Barbara was a schoolteacher, and spent most of her teaching career at Morris, IL Public Schools, retiring as a Junior High English Teacher. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers. She volunteered for several civic organizations and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Barbara is survived by two sons and their wives, Stephen D. (Deronda) Black, III of Vicksburg and Angelo Samuel (Beth) Black of West Palm Beach, FL; three granddaughters, Madeleine, Ava, and Katherine; and a grandson, Chase. The was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Stephen in 2013.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A private interment may take place later in Riverside Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Main St., Three Rivers, MI 49093.
